Correction Standards
- Substantive errors: Corrected within 48 hours. Correction notice added at top of article with date and description.
- Minor errors (typos, formatting): Corrected silently unless they affect meaning.
- All substantive corrections: Logged below with date, article, error, correction, and reason.
- Reader-reported errors: Verified within 72 hours. Credit given to reporter (with permission).
What Constitutes a Substantive Error
- Incorrect study citation (wrong PMID, wrong conclusion)
- Incorrect dosage, safety, or contraindication information
- Misstated study design, population, or results
- Incorrect product test results or lab data
- Outdated guideline or recommendation
- Factual error that could affect health decisions
What Is NOT a Substantive Error
- Typographical errors not affecting meaning
- Formatting inconsistencies
- Style/preference differences
- Updated evidence that doesn’t contradict prior conclusion (noted as update, not correction)
